Downtown Roseville's Fall Runs Through a Former Dealership and a Former Post Office

  • October 8, 2026

The building at 105 Vernon Street has had several lives. Decades ago it was a Pontiac-Cadillac dealership. Later it housed 105 Noshery. Since June 2026 it has been The Daily Nosh, a breakfast and lunch spot from longtime local restaurateurs Randy and Lisa Peters, whose catering and event center also operates from the same property.

A short stretch of Vernon Street holds much of what's new downtown this fall, and nearly all of it sits inside buildings that were built for something else. Operators who already had a footing in Roseville are behind most of it. The same family property that opened the newest restaurant downtown is hosting the city's showcase for its next group of food entrepreneurs on Oct. 1. Farther up the street, the former post office at 320 Vernon Street is becoming Old Town Pizza's new home. That gives the October calendar below a clear center.

105 Vernon: The Newest Table on the Street

The Daily Nosh serves breakfast and lunch all day, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Thursday through Monday. It's closed Tuesday and Wednesday. It doesn't take reservations, so weekend timing matters.

The menu leans toward elevated comfort food. Style Magazine's September review lists the Skillet Cinnamon Roll, Chocolate Gravy & Biscuits, Chicken Fried Steak, a Hot Pastrami Sandwich, the Run-of-the-Mill Burger and a Roasted Beet Salad among the dishes to try. There's also a full bar with espresso drinks, mocktails and cocktails like The Awakening Espresso Martini and the Garden Fire Bloody Mary.

Some details for planning a visit:

  • Monday is industry day. Hospitality workers get 15% off their order.
  • The patio is covered and has a water feature. The Downtown Roseville association adds that it's shaded and cooled by a large ceiling fan.
  • Vegetarian and gluten-free options are on the menu, and portions are described as generous.
  • Call ahead, since hours are subject to change. The number is 916-773-1328.

The restaurant sits at the front of a property that is about to host something bigger than brunch.

Oct. 1: The Same Property Tastes What Comes Next

Tomorrow night, Thursday, Oct. 1, from 5 to 7:30 p.m., Randy Peters Catering and Event Center hosts the Roseville Rising Culinary Showcase. Guests can sample food from 13 emerging local food entrepreneurs, all recent graduates of the program's third cohort. Tickets are $39, and the City of Roseville says registration is limited. Specialty drinks are available at a no-host bar.

Roseville Rising is a joint program of the city's Roseville Venture Lab and GFN: Growth Factory Nonprofit. It supports early-stage entrepreneurs as they develop and grow their businesses locally. At the showcase, guests meet the people behind the food and hear the business concepts behind each venture.

The location ties the evening to the rest of the street. The Peters family's newest restaurant serves at the front of the property while early-stage food businesses introduce themselves at the catering hall. Those two things sit at very different stages, from an established operator on its latest concept to a cohort that just finished a city incubator. Both are happening at one Vernon Street address in the same season.

320 Vernon: A Rooftop Without a Confirmed Opening Date

Old Town Pizza bought the former post office at 320 Vernon Street in September 2024. The plan is a two-level restaurant with a rooftop bar and a basement entertainment venue. The Downtown Roseville association calls it downtown's first rooftop dining experience.

The opening date has moved more than once:

  1. 2025: the original target after the purchase.
  2. June 2026: the revised target reported by ABC10. Co-owner Reese Browning said at the time, "So far, we're right on track."
  3. Mid-September 2026: the target in a Sacramento Business Journal preview from late July.
  4. September 2026: still the target in the Downtown Roseville association's Aug. 14 update, with the rooftop included in Phase 1 of construction.

As of Sept. 30, we found no published confirmation that the Vernon Street location has opened, held a soft opening, or set a new date. Old Town Pizza's Instagram is the place to watch for an announcement. Meanwhile, the existing Roseville restaurant at 120 Church Street is open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Happy hour runs 2 to 5 p.m. on weekdays, and a late-night happy hour starts at 8 p.m. every day.

ABC10's reporting gives a sense of the new space. The rooftop will have a solid roof structure and roll-up glass doors so it can be used year-round. Browning described "incredible views of downtown Roseville and the railyards to match." It will also be the chain's first location with a full liquor program, beyond the beer and wine it has served until now. The basement venue is planned for 2027.

Between the Peters property at 105 and the post office at 320, Vernon Street is getting a breakfast room and a rooftop dining room. The calendar in between fills the square.

The October Calendar Between Those Two Addresses

Most of downtown's October events take place at Vernon Street Town Square, 311 Vernon Street, which sits between the two addresses above. Event listings can change, so confirm details before you go.

Thursday, Oct. 8 is a double day on the square.

  • 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.: The City of Roseville's Public Power Week celebration, with family activities, a safety demonstration, and food trucks serving snacks and treats.
  • 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.: Food Truck Mania returns with gourmet food trucks, live music and a kids zone.

Saturday, Oct. 10, 4 to 9 p.m.: The Halloween Towne Night Market brings vendors, food trucks and entertainment to the square.

Sunday, Oct. 18, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.: The Falling Leaf Food & Crafts Festival has moved off Vernon Street. A Sept. 14 notice from the organizers says it is now at Maidu Park. The event page's location field still lists Vernon Street Town Square, but the dated notice is the newer information. Entry is free, and there will be food trucks, gourmet food vendors, crafts and fall activities.

Thursday, Nov. 12, 5 to 11 p.m.: Food Truck Mania returns to 311 Vernon Street for another evening.

Two more dates fall outside downtown. Fountains at Roseville's Costumes & Candy runs Oct. 29 from 4 to 6 p.m. at 1013 Galleria Blvd., where costumed characters hand out candy to children in costume. The Mountain Mandarin Festival, featuring foothill-grown mandarins and local farmers, is Nov. 20 to 22 at @the Grounds, 700 Event Center Drive.

Where to Sit Before or After

On event nights the square fills up. Several established Vernon Street patios are within a short walk, and the Downtown Roseville association pointed to them in August as the weather began to cool.

Goose Port Public House has a large, shaded, dog-friendly patio with no TVs, a quieter option than the sports bar inside.

The Monk's Cellar has a patio to the left of the big arched door, serving craft beer and wine.

The Fig Tree Coffee, Art & Music Lounge pairs specialty coffee with local art and live music.

On Oct. 8 that gives a full day without leaving the street. You could have lunch at The Daily Nosh while the Public Power Week trucks are out, spend the late afternoon on the Goose Port patio, and walk back to the square when Food Truck Mania starts at 5. The Daily Nosh closes at 3 and doesn't open Tuesday or Wednesday, so plan Thursday-through-Monday visits around it. Oct. 8 is a Thursday, so it's open that day.

The next change on this stretch is the one at 320 Vernon. When the post office opens as a rooftop dining room, it will join the former dealership at 105 as a second Vernon Street building put to a new use.
